Hi Boris, many thanks for adding this as a proposal. It's interesting to contrast your proposed Intellectual Property marketplace with the Climate CoLab which is a kind of ideas marketplace also. Do you think a new profit-driven competitive IP marketplace can create faster results than open collaboration with the shared goal of finding solutions for the climate? How would you make a market for ideas that make sense or make money only after economics is reoriented to protect rather than destroy shared resources such as climate stability? Best wishes James

Intellectual System (IS) and Intellectual Property Exchange (IPE) are based on unique and unusual principles. The latter make it possible for Intellectual Property Exchange at the same time to be commercial and to stimulate open collaboration in all fields of human activity around the world! Maybe It seems to be incredible but it is so. Please, notice that Intellectual Property Exchange is unique and absolutely not similar to the Climate Colab. Generally, there are not any projects similar to IS and IPE around the world. I suppose it is not necessary to reorient economic. All should happen naturally and gradually! Intellectual System (IS) and Intellectual Property Exchange (IPE) are built so that making and promoting innovations more appropriate to environmental requirements could be more profitable! In my opinion, Market of Intellectual Property will be the most profitable in history.

Very kind Boris. Many of us had been hoping for a natural and gradual reorienting of economics over the decades. It seems this has happened but in the wrong direction, reorienting towards faster unsustainability. I appreciate that you want to protect your designs for your market but not knowing how it might work I guess makes it hard for people to imagine, discuss or help with the project? I wish you luck though!

Oh, James! It is absolutely easy to discuss. I am open for other people. However, my projects are commercial because of that I cover up some details of my innovations. But I am ready to discuss, to dispute about the projects and disclose most of information concerning IS and IPE. When I find co-founders (partners) to realize and improve the projects together I shall give them all the information and all details, of course. Please, notice that Intellectual System (IS) and Intellectual Property Exchange (IPE) are complex systems and are tight related to each other. Only all elements together of the systems can affect society in this way. I mean that IPE and IS composed in special way will gradually and naturally impel people and any entities create innovations and intellectual property more and more appropriate to environmental requirements! Truly, this process will not be ideal, of course. There will be different situations and points but on the whole all will be evolving in this direction fulfilling ecological conditions required. P.S. Intellectual System and Intellectual Property Exchange are complex to realize but are easy to use! I think it is a very inmportant moment! Thanks. Author of the projects Boris Lagutin.

Sorry, James! Correct is "When I find people or entities willing to become co-founders (partners) I give them all the information and details about the projects." Thanks.

Hi, James! In terms of Intellectual Property Exchange (IPE) it is necessary that IPE is commercial. All my projects are commercial but they all serve for social goals! Also I am ready to give all information about my projects to governmental organizations or any other ones related to governments without any agreements. In this case I have only one request - if the organizations or governments receive money (benefits) by using my projects (innovations) that they will pay me royalties (not more than 5% of total incomes). The royalties should be discussed especially. Thanks.

Hi Boris, Intriguing to hear about this new idea for managing IP. I would be interested in seeing how such an approach might help to address the problem of transferring in new energy technology to developing countries, which has emerged as a big issue in the climate change conversation. A major concern of the developing countries is that they be able to benefit from new energy technologies that will be invented in the advanced economies. This necessarily will involve addressing IP issues. A recent publication by the South Centre highlighted the concerns of the developing world: http://www.southcentre.org/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=1311%3Asb47&catid=144%3Asouth-bulletin-individual-articles&Itemid=287⟨=en It would be great if you could describe how your approach could help to address some of these concerns.

Rob, I've just read the publication you mentioned and I must say that I didn't meet something new there. I understood and understand all those worries of developing countries. It is necessary to say that Intellectual Property Exchange (IPE), as I suppose and can prove, will at more or less rate solve many of those problems! Intellectual Property Exchange (IPE) is based on the following principles: 1. Competition; 2. Demand and supply; 3. Compliance to environmental requirements In this way IPE will stimulate creating immense veriaty of intellectual property step by step more and more sophisticated and also appropriate to environmental requirements. This process will gradually and naturally evolve around the world! As you can understand different productions require distinct intellectual property to be used. Seeing that, there will be not only different types of intellectual property but also distinct areas (sectors) of applying intellectual property. For example, there is an Chinese factory located on an definite territory in China. So the factory needs intellectual property suitable for using on that territory and conditions. Therefore, It could apply an appropriate intellectual property broker or some brokers for help to find, to buy or to order creating intellectual property (technology, know-how and so on) necessary for this factory. Intellectual Property Exchange (IPE) is a free marketplace. Of course, the latter should partially be regulated by different international agreements and national laws. However, the freedom of trading will give the freedom of choice for all participants of IPE (brokers, buyers and others). Please, notice that, as I suppose, Market of Intellectual Property may gradually become the most profitable market in history! Of course, I can mistake. Please, do not hesitate to ask me any questions! I'll be glad to answer them! Thanks a lot!

Hello, Rob! Thank you very much for it! It is an interesting article. In terms of the points mentioned in this article I can say that I analyzed these points already. Intellectual System (IS) and Intellectual Property Exchange (IPE) solve many of these problems as well. Firstly, when I said "gradually" I meant "step by step" and "sensibly". It did not mean "slowly". Moreover, as I suppose IS and IPE will very soon cause the immense fast flow of intellectual activities of people! This process will very rapidly run and governments of developed countries should be ready for it! Secondly, IS and IPE will cause emerging the necessity to assess needs of not only developed countries but also developing ones. Furthermore, absolutely new forms of business such as Intellectual Property Brokers' Agencies, different analitcal agencies, various agencies of different experts, agencies of intellectual activities marketing services et cetera will emerge. All will create conditions in which services over assessment of developing countries needs will be profitable. Thirdly, as I suppose IPE could solve the problem of high costs of intellectual property as well. Notice, IPE is based on unique and unusual principles! Fourthly, strong patent laws are necessary and useful for developing countries when IPE working. IS and IPE systems will create a special atmosphere in which strong patent laws would be profitable equally for developing and developed countries. And it would not lead to high licence costs! Here the more important thing is what structure they (patent laws) have in every country. My best regards for you! Author of the projects: IS and IPE Boris Lagutin.

Rob, As I said earlier IPE will not cause high licence costs but at the same time IPE will create conditions in which sellers of intellectual property could get much more profits for trading of intellectual property than those that they can get now! Of course, it concerns not all situations related to intellectual property! Thanks a lot! Author of the projects: IS and IPE Boris Lagutin.

Moreover, in my opinion Intellectual System (IS) and Intellectual Property Exchange (IPE) created by me could help make Economy of INTELLECT! The latter, I think, is necessary for society now. Author of the projects Boris Lagutin.

In my opinion, one of the main problems that disturb developing innovations and great ideas, technologies in all fields (industry, science, retail, tourism, agriculture, entertainment etc.) is absence of special economic and financial systems helping to develop innovations, ideas, technologies et cetera. Economic and financial systems which support creativity, creative ideas, good technologies and other results of people's intellectual activities will, I suppose, be needed in 2012 and more. Let's take a move to create and realize such systems! More on: www.borislagutin.wordpress.com
