INCREASING CLIMATE CHANGE LITERACY TO THE WORLD TO FIX CLIMATE CHANGE CAUSES.

Introduction/EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

Climate  Change is a reality. World nations have little or no idea how to take steps to reduce the little GHG emissions they emit. The manner to address this problem is by taking climate change science and literacy to them to undertand the sources, types of emissions and what steps to take.

The lack of knowledge will contribute to failure to take any steps. The developed nations may have good measures to take to reduce the climate chanage and the global warming  but if the larger population of the world dont know what that means, the measures are likely to fail.

The developing nations are the worst hit with the climate change impacts. They need to take action too to reduce their little emissions, to improve efficiency and reduce poverty among themselves. They will also be able to access climate change finance programmes once they understand the methodology and mechanism involved. It will be difficulty for many nations in the world  to particiapte in this equally when they lack skills. The systems for accessing climate change funds are complex. The lack of knowldge makes them not attempt and they are unable to interrogate their  actions  as they lack skills.

Climate Change Literacy need to be given a priority to effectively tackle the Climate Change problem. The manufacturers who use a lot of electricity, builders who need cement, road transport  and households  all emit alot of ghg emissions. They need the skills to reduce it. They can't reduce now or take any steps since they can't account ghg emissions.

The political will is missing by world leaders since it means loss of national financial power.However, it will make no sense to make huge money and the citizens spend their lives in Hospital as a result of poor health cuased by the Climate Change.The world nations need to be enriched with the knowledge.

Rationale.

Lack of Climate Change literacy contributes to emissions. Organizations are concerns with financial statements only without diclosing environmental sustainable component which is the GHG Accounting side. Shareholders are smiling all the way to the bank as a results of huge dividents with little consideration on organizations failure to prepare emissions profile like the financial counter part. This skills will assist  countries to access funds that they need most  to improve the world. Emission from by nations can be tamed if the emission reduction projects are increased. Poverty increases the emission rates in developing nations as they can't afford the alternatives on their own. Training personnel in GHG Accounting in other countries is nil. The skills are not possible. Low level of literacy on what the sources, types, emission reduction opportunities make it difficulty for investors to take any step.Policies may sound good but if people dont understand whta they aim to achieve, it will not make sense finally. World nations and especially developing and they hardly question or interrogate developed nations on compliant to international agreements meant to address Climate Change problems. The policy makers too lack skills hence little appetite for need to address the issues.The world  leadership need to act in amanner that they all benefit.

TEAM

Mr.Samuel Otenyo of the GHGPAS based in Kenya, Africa advocates for the increased Climate Change Literacy for Africa and the world especially Skills in GHG Accounting which skills lead to decision making in addressing the issue to reducing emissions.

Mr. Otenyo is a Trained GHG Expert to advice on emissions profiling as a step to start thinking of emission reduction. Without accounting, one will not talk of reducing hence my desire to promote accounting alongside the Financial accounting. I have made the same appeal in the Stakeholders Forum in Cape Town and it was made aresolution. Mr.Samuel Otenyo is talking and talking on the ghg accounting as a step to fixing causes of climate Change.

 FEASILIBILITY OF PROPOSAL

This problem will be addressed if:

1) Capacity building on GHG Accounting Systems and quantifications Skills are introduced at all levels and support for the Local Experts is promoted,

2) Scolarships for Climate Change accounting are increased especially to developing nations,

3) Energy Technology Transferer activities and accessibility at grassroots including tertiary colleges,

4) Accessibility to Climate Change Financing mechanisms are simplied without compromising on quality.,

5) Integration of Climate Change Literacy is mainstreamed in Schools and the Local Communities,

6) Holding more workshops to address Climate Solutions which should be attended by Deaf people too.

The funding of  these activities will increase the level and reduce emissions that causes climate change and the world will be peaceful and habitable for all of us regardless of the geographical region one lives.

The Skills required for this fields are sensitive and must meet the international Standards like ISO14064-1,2 Series.

The implementation of these proposal will bring the desired global econmic and developmental governance framework based on knowledge. If all companies and institutions prepare their emissions accounting profiles, it will be easy to make decision at that level to improve efficiency and create wealth - and at the same time save the environment. The world is full of international operated business hence the need to account and track their emissions and take action to reduce.Such actions could help.

The media's roles and the  political will  can influence policies. Recording the events help compare and monitor progress or detect setbacks.
