This is a great start of a quantitative analysis of projected carbon emissions and how they could be reduced. Since electricity seems to be the sector with the biggest emissions, what would you propose for a reduction? Conservation? Generation from renewables?

This is a very promising start. I will be excited to see this proposal after you have a chance to flesh it out!

This is a good start. You can find some scenarios for economic growth and emissions in the following sources. 1. IEA World Economic Outlook. You should be able to use your University library resources to access the annual WEO reports. Reports prior to 2010 are available free on the IEA website (http://www.iea.org/weo/index.asp) 2. The McKinsey Global Institute has done a fair bit of work on energy ans sustainable growth. See, for example, http://www.mckinsey.com/locations/india/mckinseyonindia/pdf/environmental_energy_sustainability_media.pdf It might be a good idea to reduce the number of sectors you are looking at. All the best!
