Pitch

livery and taxi companies that take advantage of producing their own ethanol fuel from byproducts.

Description

Guidance on collaborative pilot

This is a pilot test of a new, collaborative approach for getting work done in the Climate CoLab. It will run during March and April of 2012.

Just like in the 2011 activities, anyone can create a proposal. But there is also a community proposal, where members are encouraged to work together in a collaborative way. Any member can contribute to the community proposal as long as they are logged in.

The community proposal is like a wiki, so the history of edits is tracked, and you can revert to prior versions of the proposal if desired.

Please also use the Comments to express your opinion on whether or not you would like to see this collaborative approach used in the Climate CoLab in 2012.

Feel free to organize the proposal as you see fit. One thought—it's good to have a brief summary of the overall proposal at the top, as an aid to readers.

Proposal Text

Summary

I propose business is in the public transportation sector should use machinery to make their own ethanol fuel from byproducts from breweries and other sources, also consider using other natural resources to make ethanol that our last of an impact on the food supply. I believe we should try using Maple sap as a natural ingredient to make ethanol we should also try other natural sugars to begin the process of ethanol making.

Category of the action

Reducing emissions from transportation

What actions do you propose?

there is a company out of California that has something called  micro fueler this device can produce ethanol from brewery byproducts within a day or from other products within a week.if you can get breweries in the area to donate by products this would save companies money

or if we use these machines with maple sap as one of the ingredients to produce ethanol this were also promote growth of forests as well is ethanol.

Who will take these actions?

I would love to take these actions into business I would like to own myself and I would also like to turn it into a delivery chain so this kind of company could expand throughout the country.

Where will these actions be taken?

these actions could be taken anywhere and depending upon your need you can always make more ethanol with more micro fuelers

How much will emissions be reduced or sequestered vs. business as usual levels?

I estimate that the omissions could be reduced significantly by the use of ethanol we already have e85 in some areas of the country available at gas pumps.and livery and taxi companies their main purpose is transportation which is usually fueled by regular gasoline the use of ethanol were replace the majority of gasoline if not all of it.

What are other key benefits?

the other key benefits that I see are with reduction of costs since the majority of profits are cut in to by gasoline for these types of companies would be increased revenue which could lead to lower costs for customers as well as more income for independent drivers or employees all while helping the environment

What are the proposal’s costs?

one micro fueler system has the average price of $10,000 there are also tax incentives in some states when you buy this type of machinery other than that you would only need costs related to the average taxi or livery business and a lot of vehicles have been produced to use ethanol  up to 85% so you could purchase them as a is there also products that are minimal cost of a few hundred dollars that can be placed in any vehicle.
