I am a decision maker of the goverment and Hope for your proposal soon, because is very important for us to have the real tools to improve the public policies and develop strategies to combat this problem.
Maybe you can propose to increase capacities of the vulnerable communities and develop early warning systems
Regards!

The King Tides Project is a great starting point, but in this contest we’re looking for new ideas more than proposals to expand existing infrastructure. What interested us most in this proposal was the idea of developing science class curricula and linking student groups with municipal planning departments. Could you expand on that section a bit? E.g., how will you identify or reach out to interested groups on both sides; how might you structure the project such that the municipalities would get meaningful, actionable information? How will communities (could include land managers and business owners or associations as well) be empowered to take action? We also had some questions about the technology, e.g., what type of software would you use, who will develop it, etc.? Providing more detail on this will make this a much stronger proposal.

Great job in building on our comments and incorporating feedback – this is a much stronger proposal than the previous version. We really like the idea of engaging students in the collection of data and developing a formal curriculum around that. Another plus is that the project builds on existing programs and expertise. Although it’s not a completely innovative idea, it is very solid, and seems ready to implement. It’s not entirely clear how the project would lead to increased resilience, although it would be very effective in communicating risk.
