Judges'' comments
It’s a new framing, will penalize emitters, and it’s aligned with the recent trend of major actors from the financial sector (e.g. Tom Steyer, Hank Paulson) pushing back against members of the business sector who are climate change deniers. Engaging the investment sector has potential. Proposal could use more analysis of the barriers that must be overcome and more details on how it could be implemented. Adding additional money to the world economy could create inflation, and the proposal could do more to consider the potential monetary impact of the proposed actions.
