Thank you for your contest entry. We have looked at your proposal and found that it contained intriguing elements; however, it has not been reviewed by the Judges in this first round because it does not address the contest prompt. Could you please be more specific about how these ideas can be implemented in China? Your proposal presents a few ideas, including: (1) geoengineering option of what to do if decision-makers do not take sufficient action on climate change (2) an adaptation strategy (water pumping) to reduce migration from south to north, due to climate change Each idea would required to be explained in detail in your proposal. Your summary talks about geoengineering. If this is the core of your proposal, we invite you to move it in the Geoengineering Workspace. You can do so by logging into your account, opening your proposal, selecting the Admin tab, and clicking "Move proposal" or "Copy proposals." If you are proposing a joint solution (geoengineering with a specific humanitarian approach), here's one way you could approach it: (1) Start a proposal in the global contest that outlines your strategy: to implement a geoengineering approach along with the adaptation approach, just in case no movement happens by decision-makers (2) In the global proposal, link in a geoengineering proposal that specifically details the geoengineering approach and suggest how it could be implemented (3) Create proposals in relevant regional contests that address how the adaptation efforts would specifically be implemented in and impact that region. In these proposals, link in any other adaptation proposals that are relevant, as well as detail any special role that that country/region could have in the geoengineering effort. (4) Link these regional proposals into the global contest. We encourage you to keep developing your idea until the submission deadline, August 31. The deadline for the Global contest is October 17, 2015. Reach out to us if you have any questions about how to complete the proposal. All the best, 2015 Climate CoLab Fellows

I recognize that we should always be hopeful that international leaders will overcome the political and economical agendas of mistrust and apprehension, when they meet November 30, to December 11, 2015 at the Paris Climate Change Conference (COP). However, based on the astute comment made on the Google Geoengineering Site by Senior Scientist Greg H. Rau, we must ask ourselves, "What if our leaders fail to find common ground before the devastating impacts of climate change are irreversible?" https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/geoengineering/UJKVpF9_o7c It's becoming more obvious that if our leaders continue to play games . . the masses must seriously consider safe and effective options that puts the destiny of the people back into their own hands. Making clouds locally ("Cloud Whitening") does not have to be approved as they dissipate naturally and leave no footprint. Johnnie Buttram
