Just returned from field research at a newly constructed US Corps of Engineers levee project. EPS soil amendment for soil stabilization, slope stabilization, and erosion control shows benefits over control after 3 months since seeding. Root mass is more than 2x that of control. Field team returns in July and official Corps of Engineers technical report to be published this fall.

Dear Tom and Steve, Thanks for being among the first to kick-off the proposal submission period of the Global Climate Action Plan contest of MIT's Climate CoLab. I'm one of the Fellows for this contest, and here to serve as a liaison to the CoLab, answer questions, and provide substantive feedback to help strengthen proposals. Fellows will also have a role in the evaluative phase of this contest. In this contest we are asking participants to select from and combine proposals in the various regional contests in order to develop a comprehensive global plan. Please take a look at the proposals in the regional contests to consider how they might be effectively combined. Bear in mind that the regional contest submission period is still ongoing, so new proposals may be added in the coming days. Thank you for your contributions to the Colab and looking forward to see you build out your proposal.

I would really like to see some links to the research you mention, I have seen local organic farmers using modified Savannah grass to enrich soil and I suppose sequester carbon when properly mulched back into soil. Please provide additional data so we can cross link this proposal to others, it's a great idea. Using natural process and technology has lots of potential for real change.
