The on-the-ground experience, endorsement from local communities, and affiliation with Open Forests are all points in favor of this. Such projects need to be scaled up massively in order for reforestation to be of significant benefit for carbon dioxide reductions.

Innovative idea with the potential to serve as a facilitating mediator to drive impact investments in the forestry space. Best of luck & keep it up! ForestVision's drone mapping and IT solutions capacity is tremendous. Way to go :) Cheers, Urs (last year's AFOLU winner with our initiative Kijani.co)

Thank you very much for your encouraging words! By the way ForestVisions and OpenForests will be OpenForests only in a few weeks. Here you find all about us: https://openforests.com/

It can be argued that there is already sufficient will and capacity in the investment community to enable large-scale afforestation projects and sequester significant amounts of carbon dioxide. This proposal forms an important bridge between those potential financiers and on-ground project participants. Open Forests appear to have a good understanding of the information that must flow to financial backers to support these initiatives. Well done for assembling a powerful toolkit of resources to share this information.

Thanks for your comment! That's what I believe too. Our experience and also literature shows that there is a big demand for sustainable forest investment opportunities, only a clearly structured path towards such ventures is not available yet. We continuously working on this bridge between responsible investors and sustainable forestry projects.

Hi, an interesting proposal! I am suggesting that this proposal provides an alternative for financing my proposal for a reforestation Olympics. On the other hand, these Olympics present an way to examine proposed forestry projects for your iniative.

Thank you for your comments. Yes I belive it is true that our initiative could support each others initiative. I think it is a very smart idea to create a reforestation competition on national or international level. I also has the side effect of bringing forests on the political agenda. Please keep us updated on initiative. You might also want to follow our project and you can do that a the following link: http://eepurl.com/i1reT
