What initiatives, policies and technologies can significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions from the transportation sector?

Modern transportation has become an enabler of the global, connected economy. However, the increase in activity has caused transportation energy demand to rise, and due to this sector’s oil dependence, greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from transportation are growing at the highest rate among those from all end-use sectors. This contest seeks proposals that offer innovative ideas, or build upon existing ones, to significantly reduce GHG emissions in transportation around the world.

Simple CO2 filter feasible today, fits all transport motor vehicles, potential high for CO2 capture at low cost, safe storage with benefits
Establishing a low-cost air quality sensor network in Kigali, Rwanda with publicly accessible data empowering the public and policies.
Voluntary or compliance-driven investments are used to create and support virtual interaction networks that reduce emissions from air travel
Making polluters pay for climate damage caused by maritime emissions by overcoming avoidance, legal, data and global coordination issues
Using carbon dioxide made by a vehicle to produce fuel that powers a vehicle so that carbon dioxide is not released back into the air.
Creating a cheap, wear and tear resistant, tough solar panel which could be laid on roads. The pressure by moving vehicles changed to energy
Transition to a Low-Carbon Economy
Build a nationwide network of high speed, electric, toll roads for all electric autonomous vehicles to save energy and reduce air pollution.
An initative thar reduce green house gases emissions; while you generate electricity, get a healthier life and reduce vehicular traffic.
Generemos cambio con ayuda de la Energia solar.
WE DECIDED TO USE ELEVATED ROADS HAVING MAGNETIC FIELD STRONG ENOUGH TO MOVE AERODYNAMICALLY DESIGNED BLOCK USING SOLAR & PIEZO ELECTRICITY.
Buy a plug-in hybrid car and charge its battery with renewable electricity to simultaneously save money and slash your carbon emission
Could aviation emissions be reduced by building 'half-way-there-ports' in the sky?
Tired of traffic? Tired of pollution? Do you want more value for the for the money spent on public transportation? EcoPRT is the answer.
Using high pressure air pumped out beneath a flat bottomed ship,to trap it,and seperate the ship fom the water,to eleviate drag on the ship.
Patented gearbox apparatus design provides all needed speeds/uses smallest motor without acceleration system by least gears number in world
Driving is a huge source of carbon pollution. To cut it, create the freedom to go carless by clustering mass transit, jobs & homes together.
Experimenting the alternative, which relays on ubiquitous mobile camera and Internet connectivity
The monorail of 3 meter high for massive transport of passenger in small and large cities based in renewable energy
