This is a very thought provoking proposal with a lot of potential.  It seems that given the newness of this idea, proposing a small pilot is in order.  Could you add some specifics for developing a small pilot and consider particularly what barriers there might be and how you would address these?

Neil,

Last day to make refinements to the proposal. Looking forward to seeing the final version.

There are many parts to your proposal, and I would be helped by a diagram explaining how all the parts interact. A couple of the claims in the proposal are out-of-scale, such as the lowering of sea level by pumping for desalination. The amount of pumping required would be unrealistic. I did not understand how this proposal would lower CO2 levels to preindustrial times.

Good luck.

Dear Participant, this idea is not new therefore a further elaboration. From the legal standpoint it is not simple just to decide to irrigate a piece of land on the other side of the world unless threatening by force of a country to another country and it has been banned by international law. Above all, certain areas from desserts and certain desserts are not to be irrigated. Therefore, if you can elaborate your ideas it would be useful to understand the details of your proposal. Good idea.  Cheers

We will have drought stricken areas all over the world and rising water levels will cost every country. I think most country's will accept clean water, considering the costs of building ugly seawalls around all low lying coastal areas and the massive costs involved with relocating over 1 billion people to North America and other destinations. They will want the water for their crops and to drink, lowing sea water levels will save us trillions of dollars and who wants to look at ugly sea walls.I think when the pro's and the con's are worked out, this will be our best solution and I think most country's will agree. We are talking clean water a necessity of life.I will work on it thank you

There is mention of semi finalists to be able to clarify their plans, but I see no option to edit
