This is a nice tool for evaluating and communicating climate risk and appears to be a commercial product. There are other systems available that are used for formal vulnerability assessments at municipalities to evaluate against standard: for example, in water sector J-100 standard is used and EPA has a tool and there's PARRE.org. Climate.iq is broader and the presentation is very nice. The biggest question is, is the Climate Colab the right place to promote mature commercial products? Furthermore, this proposal is very US-centric.

This proposal is extremely detailed and well articulated. This tool can both empower individuals to assess and address potential climate change impacts, and inform practitioners (planners, engineers) about the risks facing their communities. Both quantitative and qualitative data are employed, which is particularly crucial if vulnerability is to be assessed effectively. Our sense is that the proponents are more comfortable with collection and analysis of quantitative data, however, so the details of the qualitative methodology require more thought, in our view. In addition, the quantitative data related to exposure appear to be derived from historical trend, which of course will not hold steady in a changing climate. It is not clear how the proponents will gather downscaled climate scenario data, nor how they would attach probabilities to various scenarios.
