Pitch

Urgent need to save our environment by reducing harmful pests with no pesticides but just biologically and physically by diodes.

Description

Summary

Innovated instruments which are  depending mainly on the effect of Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs) against certain agricultural pests. LEDs were powered by solar energy to be able to do its effect in fields and greenhouses specifically in night when most pests are active. LEDs colors with their different wavelengths showed that they were successfully able to control pests directly and also they can attract special predator to each pest and can attract others to the same pest with other color. Besides, LEDs showed their effect on the metabolic resistance of pesticides in insects and mites. They can stop it effectively which means little using of pesticides and reduction of environmental pollution efficiently. Moreover, instruments could spray nano and normal molecules of natural extracts, if the infestation increased rapidly. Beside so, there are many options to do more tasks would be added to this invention and will be discussed later. Used devices have small dimensions as an advantage of taking them everywhere. They could be used against mosquitoes and other medical insects which play an important role as viruses-vectors.Instruments are dealing with them as deterrents successfully.Good effects were noticed on livestock and poultry exposed to different LEDs colors at their stages.Produced milk, meat and eggs are more excellent than which produced on none exposed animals and chickens and that was proved through a big project in Canda. All innovated instruments gained many international prizes from several countries all over the world.

What actions do you propose?

Many people specially youth will be able to manufacture and use all innovated instruments successfully.Beside so they are eco-friendly devices and have good effects on climate because they don't emit harmful gases or heat.Beside, through use diodes on plants ,all resulted crops will be increased gradually .So we can achieve all SDGs announced by UN at COP21,Paris,France.

Who will take these actions?

  1. Farmers
  2. Producers of Organic Food
  3. WHO
  4. FAO
  5. Housewives
  6. Anyone

Where will these actions be taken?

  1. All Developing Countries
  2. All Arab Countries
  3. EU

How much will emissions be reduced or sequestered vs. business as usual levels?

Through  used innovated instruments there were no emissions and they are eco-friendly.

What are other key benefits?

Pesticides use will be reduced and also environmental pollution. All pests will be killed even directly by physical method or biologically so we can conserve in the same time beneficial insects and mites. We can get priceless organic crops and then side effects that appeared of pesticides specially in developing countries will be stopped and all of their societies will be more productive and their countries being then developed .Also the big problem related to pesticides' resistance in insects will be reduced so the amounts of used pesticides, environmental pollution and other resulted bad impacts will be reduced also effectively.

What are the proposal’s costs?

No side effects even on the environment, climate or society.

Time line

In recent years stable instruments could be used even for coming two years and then they could be developed to be robots which are already available now but their use can be expanding from the third year. The unmanned vehicle with LEDs connection points beside ability to discover dry points in the soil which need water could be used on the long term and the control will be able by mobiles. So the climate smart agriculture will take place effectively all over the world .
