Pitch

Create a mall kiosk where customers can step into a booth for measurements, select a fashion, and print out clothing.

Description

Summary

Someday if the science fiction predictions are correct we will all wear clothes that come from 3-D printers and go into the recycle bin when we are done with them creating an efficient closed loop for materials.  To hasten the day when this is a reality a mall kiosk could be created where customers could 3-d print clothing that they have selected from an online catalog.  The clothes should all be printed initially from a single polymer such as polyester to allow for easy recycling.

What actions do you propose?

For the kiosk to be a success it will need state of the art printers and a big name fashion designer to get behind the concept.

Who will take these actions?

Where will these actions be taken?

The first printed fashions will likely be expensive and only available in high end malls in the United States or Europe.

What are other key benefits?

An entire job market could be created where fashion designers could be compensated for designs on an as printed basis.

What are the proposal’s costs?
