I agree that art & design can have a huge impact on how people view and act on climate change. But you do not really explain how you would promote this issue.

true Jan, thanks for the feedback. I'm a bit hoping that other people fill in the gaps sorta speak right now. Just like I said in another post, I just knew this website from a few days ago, and the deadline is pretty tight, so I decided to just jump into the pool at the moment ;-) First thing I noticed was the lack of a design and art "department" in this great initiative, so that's what I'm addressing here, maybe something like this will pop up in the future within this framework? Who knows, all I can do is to propose this.

Hi Tim, It's a pity that you've only just discovered this website. Your idea is sound. You get my support and you'll get my vote if you get the chance to develop your proposal further. Chris

Thanks a lot Chris. Yeah, it's a pity, but ooh well. I try to do my best with the limited time that is given me before deadline. Maybe you can check out the two other projects of mine as well? ila (https://www.climatecolab.org/web/guest/plans/-/plans/contestId/1300204/planId/1308612) box (https://www.climatecolab.org/web/guest/plans/-/plans/contestId/1300204/planId/1309033) These should fit right into a design section. Right now I experience some difficulty placing it under the right label, cause it touches multiple of them in some way.

Hi Tim, I just realized that this proposal is in the contest suggestion. So you do not really need to explain how you would promote this issue at the moment in contrast to my prior comment. It is a good suggestion for a contest, and I give my full support.

Thank you for your contest suggestion. I encourage you to keep developing your idea; in particular, I recommend you include organizations or key figures who may wish to partner on the contest. ~~ Laur Fisher for the Climate CoLab team

Hi Tim and Climate CoLab team, We strongly believe the power of audiovisual images in order to educate and create awareness on climate change. We are Solar World Cinema, a network of solar powered mobile cinema's. After sunset the solar cinema organizes open air film screenings in the public space, free of charge and accessible to everybody. The Solar Cinema brings film close to her audience. Not only presenting film on the screen but also providing the possibility to learn how to make film, video and stop-motion animation, stimulating media creativity and raising critical awareness. Another important goal is promoting the use of renewable energies and making the public aware of climate issues. Solar Cinema can reach a broad range of places. On a square, in the park or on the beach an open air cinema can unfold. As the Solar Cinema is completely self-sufficient and easy to set up, it can reach the smallest and remotest villages. Places with no cultural infrastructure or media-facilities are given a temporary and mobile projection screen and media-workshop area. As the Solar Cinema always operates in the public space, it reaches a broad audience of all ages. We use culture as an eye opener to show a different world and spread an earth friendly message. We would love enter this particular contest, are there more partners, is there any development. And Climate CoLab team what would you suggest? We recently started a project in Indonesia and also in Arizona, USA. Furthermore we are in contact with a local partner in South Africa. Hope to hear from you, Kinde regards Maartje Piersma and Solar World Cinema team www.solarworldcinema.com

Dear Laur Fisher, I just noticed your comment now (strangely so), will do. Dear Maartje Piersma and Solar World Cinema team. Thanks for your comment. It is much appreciated. there has not been any development around this (I thought this proposal died a quiet death because I didn't receive any feedback in my inbox) , but I'm more then willing to for instance co-op with you into bringing this rather raw concept into further development. just pm me for contact info.
