In order to broaden awareness about climate change, we show photos of fashion from 30 years ago, nowadays, and 30 years anticipation.

Summary

In order to understand the climate change intuitively, we show the photos of fashion, such as close at 30 years ago, now, after 30 years. 

We collect fashion photos from both past and present through SNS. We then collect anticipations of fashion from 30 years in the future through collective intelligence from all over the world. The idea is to inspire passion into communities in order to sustain this flow of ideas. For instance, ideas will be posted on competitions, collaboration with fashion design educational institutions will rais

As this project is an awareness campaign, the effect on CO2 reduction cannot be directly verified. However, it can be analogized back with an alternative indicator, such as a measure of the social media.

What are other key benefits?

We can broaden awareness of climate change throughout the people with the help of themes familiar to them. Through gamification, the people will know how life can be affected by climate change. We believe that this activity will achieve a greater involvement from a broader population into curtailing climate change. 


What are the proposal’s costs?

Organizing ideas competitions will cost from 100,000 yen to 1 million yen. Depending on the The cost of the competitions scale. The involvement of fashion design educational institutions is expected to generate further costs, such as collaborative research. However this cost can be tempered thanks to sponsorship agreements with those institutions. 
The involvement of interest communities basically does not generate cost, but it is necessary to advertise in order to attract the attention of those communities. If we seek opinion from experts, additional consulting fees can be expected.

It is divided into the following three phases.

Related proposals

Lowering of CO2 emissions based on higher consciousness and good human habits 
Through the change of the consciousness of people by education, this plan aims to reduce CO2 emissions exponentially. Our project has the same target. If the results of our project is referred in the education package of this plan, the reader can forecast the change of fashion by the future in relation of climate change. It can be expected that this plan also benefits from the results of our project, bringing a wider audience to learn more about climate change through familiar topic. 

Photovoice for Vulnerability: Disaster Adaptation in Central Philippines 
The Approach of this plan using photos is similar to our project. This plan is more limited region but adopts also interviews and ethnographic approach. Our plan has adopted a wide range and light way. If our advantage works together, we will obtain a synergistic effect.
