You did a good job submitting a project that connects both the aspects of Smart technology and emissions reduction in cities. I think your idea is great and that it has a lot of potential. I'd suggest to you to finish filling in the proposal as there are some sections that are still empty. Also, I've taken a look at your website and I think you could integrate more information from it into your proposal so it is more clear what CityInsight does concretely. Your summary of project gives a good insight into the direction you want to take, but I think the sections of the actions you propose could be more specific and concrete. There are some great ideas on your website that could be integrated there. Beyond that, you don't really have a concrete project that you are proposing. Your platform already exists, so that in and of itself isn't your project. In " the ask" you set yourself an ambitious ten year goal. Perhaps the project you propose here could be the first steps of reaching that goal. For example working with all the major cities in Canada? That would allow you to propose a specific project with a timeline, budget , etc. Thank you, looking forward for the updated version of your proposal.

Yuill Herbert May 12, 2016 12:36 | Proposal contributor Hi, I think the main change was that I restructured the proposal to focus on 1000 cities using the platform (CityInSight) that we have. The project is a now a cohesive, and ambitious undertaking that at the same time is quite possible with the right partners and we are in discussions with partners that would be able to make this happen! I also filled in the questions from "what actions do you propose?" onwards which were previously blank. Please let me know if you have other questions... Best, Yuill |

I would be interested to know if your proposal then is only focused on cities in Canada or you are looking to scale this globally? Many cities submitted their own versions of "INDCs" for COP21 and many global cities have their own climate action plans so it would be interesting to know how CityInSight plans to incorporate these action plans or have a role in accelerating these plans to reach their decarbonization targets. Yuill Herbert May 31, 2016 12:59 | Proposal contributor Thanks for the question- we are looking to scale globally, building on the experience and lessons from Canada. We have completed a scan of climate action plans from cities around the world and I think the value that CityInSight offers in the level of detail that the model offers. Given appropriate data, a CityInSight project can provide an integrated analysis to support detailed financing packages, providing a basis for the injection of private and public capital into the low carbon trajectories. Right now there are some great climate action plans (and some that are quite simple) but they are not attracting the level of investment that is necessary to significantly transform the built environment.
