Finalist Evaluation

Judges'' comments

Thank you very much for the time and effort you have put into your proposal. There are good ideas in what you've submited.

However, there are still some details that prevent us from selecting your proposal for the finalist round. Your project seems to be broad and specific at the same time. Some information is missing to fully understand in what you would like to develop your idea. It seemed to us that it wasn't so clear why you've decided to intervene in Ghana, and it is also hard to know what would be the receptivity of the people there in face of this project.

We invite you to continue to develop your idea and keep up the good work. Thank you again for your participation in the Smart Zero Carbon Cities challenge.

Best Regards,

Congratulations! Your proposal, ‘’Game-Changer Direct Measure of GHG Emissions Take Tamale Ghana to Zero Carbon’’ in the Smart Zero Carbon City contest, has been selected to advance to the Semi-Finalists round.

As the Finalists selection is coming up, we thought to share with you some comments regarding your proposal, so you can have ideas and things to work on in order to come up to the next step with an even stronger submission.

We can tell that you’ve put a lot of time into your proposal. It is very well organized and developed. The project is interesting despite the fact that it is sometime too narrow and some other time too broad. The specific relates to real-time greenhouse gases analysis by using a sensor system architecture which is very practice and doable. That said, the link to the overall amelioration of the situation is tackle late in the proposal, at a point where it is its broad assumptions that come as a concern. There seems to be a gap between the practical dimension of your project. We would then recommend to do a better link between the practical real-time analysis in using sensor with the broader assumption. We also had questions about who would do what in the project you propose, as you want to ensure continuity over 30 years, and how you plan to spend the budget. More details about those aspects would be great and would strengthen your proposal. We would also recommend to take a look to the overall presentation as there are some parts that are repetitive.

Thank you for your work on this very important issue. Congratulations to be part of the Semi-Finalist round, and keep up the good work for the next step! Don’t hesitate if you have any questions.

All the best,
2016 Climate CoLab Judges
