Judges'' comments
The Judges felt that, while the approach of microgrants is fairly common in development, that the proposal did not fully take into account lessons-learned and potential pitfalls of such an approach. They would have liked to see more information about lessons learned from prior attempts at employing similar schemes. In addition, the cash transfer model seems more relevant to help communities deal with disasters and climate extremes rather than helping communities anticipate climate hazards.
