The proposal is very interesting for climate proofing infrastructure. However, it does not as well fit the Anticipate contest which is focusing on early warning/early action systems. Along the A2R 3 pillars, this proposal would ideally fit the "Reshape" pillar which will be used for the third dedicated contest round. Climate resilience reshape work is "the capacity to reshape development pathways by transforming economies to reduce risks and root causes of vulnerabilities and support the sound management of physical infrastructure and ecosystems to foster climate resilience" (see www.a2rinitiative.org). We encourage you to submit again during the "Reshape" competition.

Please focus more on the relevance of the proposal to adaptation/dealing with and preparing for climate extremes and hazards, including early warning systems and actions, instead of climate change mitigation. While the mitigation focus of this proposal is useful, it is not as relevant to the contest theme, a better balance toward how this approach delivers resilience would be good.

The Judges would like to see additional evidence to support the thesis that concrete is a more climate neutral building material than wood with respect to emissions.

The housing solutions, will also be very localized and impacted by local needs and culture, skills and materials, not 'one design fits all'. The cold Lesotho story, for example, is fairly unique in Africa, so perhaps some effort to look at issues in housing construction that are more applicable in wider regions in the continent, including building for hot conditions, floods and droughts.
