Judges'' comments
The Judges provided the following feedback on your proposal:
While the judges recognized the proposal to put forth an Interesting and innovative idea, they saw that the proposal is currently more descriptive than action-orientated, as its actual implementation is left unclear.
The judges welcomed the proposed an assessment of feasibility (understanding the market, the framework and the options), especially due to the limited evidenced-based experiences in this area. They commented that a proposal of an insurance-type intervention should take into account the analysis of vulnerabilities of target population, existing social protection programmes and their coverage/reach (including social insurance); as well as an assessment of the capacity to contribute of different types of pastoralist communities. For further development, they asked whether it would it make more sense to explore expanding the coverage of existing SSN programmes and adjust the design to pastoralist communities and questioned the cost/benefit of proposing a new scheme.
