Judges'' comments
- The Arctic permafrost zone spans a massive area. Costs of deployment are not addressed - seems like an interesting principle that would never be deployed in practice.
- The Judges do not see how it is about adapting to climate change. If you do resubmit another year, please draw or better describe how the "Multi-layer soft membrane covering the frozen soil." The Judges see that in your first drawing, but how big is it? Is it permanent? If the land cleaves off into the sea (your last drawing) what happens to the whole apparatus? Does the membrane stay on forever, or how long do you think the methane mining will take (may depend on global temperatures?) your business case (comparing natural gas to this form of methane capture) is good - you might point out that a global or regional cap and trade financial system would make your project much more viable.
