The possibility of using the heat storage capacity of zeolite in buildings sounds very exciting and promising. Yet the current proposed solution does not address key limitations of the product. In particular, it is unclear how the heat absorption/release process will occur in the wall to ensure that the brick is exposed to both external solar radiation and indoor environment, avoiding heat losses. Furthermore, spraying water within single cavities of the brick may become a very expensive exercise and potentially dangerous if not fully controlled - which is again associated with high costs. The application of Zoelite may be more suitable for larger storage surfaces where water can be more easily managed. As this proposal also consider using zeolite for "pouches" in hollow panels, the focus could be shifted to construction elements with proven buildability. However, it is suggested to developed a new submission with preliminary research on constructibility and economic viability of the proposed product.
