This proposal pushes for an existing technology (AAC blocks) that does offer superior benefits to conventional clay brick construction on many fronts, especially on reduced greenhouse gas emissions through lower embodied energy as well as lower transportation impacts. However, it does not get into key details required for the pathways to achieve this- I would encourage the author/s to add more information (backed up by data) on how they can chart an industry transformation where AAC can gain significant traction in use.
While it seems to be a very interesting topic of investigation for GHG emission, the presentation of the proposal is poor. Moreover, I have several doubts, in terms of social and economical feasibility, on the idea to totally stop the bricks production. In addition, the production of the proposed AAC blocks doesn’t seems to be so spread as the one of the bricks, with all the consequences in terms of pollution due to transportation.
