Judges'' comments
The proposal was well-written and clear. The idea of reaching out young people is one important way to overcome political economy barriers of climate policies. While student advocacy campaigns on climate change are not novel, a dedicated focus on carbon pricing is new and interesting. The fact that it is focusing on students being leaders in the future and so building the support from the ground up is positive. The campaign has momentum already. It is also based in the US, which is important, as well as being focused across states with different political majorities. I would recommend that the campaign builds in resilience/some long-term plans for how they will stay in touch with students as they go out into the world and affect change. There is a lot of value of young voices, and educating them to be literate in advocacy campaigns. Our Climate adds a young powerful voice on the state level to fight for climate.

While student advocacy campaigns on climate change are not novel, a dedicated focus on carbon pricing is new and interesting. The fact that it is focusing on students being leaders in the future and so building the support from the ground up is positive. The campaign has momentum already. It is also based in the US, which is important, as well as being focused across states with different political majorities. However, despite being quite ambitious on how to implement the campaign, the proposal lacks sound diagnosis justifying methods and specifying targets, as regions, cohorts, etc. More details on schedule, interactions and targeting would improve its presentation. It would also be interesting to show clear, demonstrated additionality of the prize in the operations - what specifically it will fund. The judges then recommend that the authors add targets and methods for the second round, and justify this with any impact metrics they already have collected.
