Dear Yanming Wei!

I have to admit that you have one brave proposal to redirect the "nuclear tax" to the benefit of humanity!

I do see a number of benefits stemming from your proposal of using more "exotic" nuclear reactions and isotopes. At the same time I ask myself how to tie it with the climate change problem. Can (nuclear) be done better - yes. Reduce GHG emissions - yes. Be safer - yes? Can it be done cheaper? Faster? With more support from public and decision-makers? Those are the type of questions I would like for your proposal to answer, as a practice solution rather than a project.

Also, from technical point of view, it would be great if you could look into how rare are the isotopes which are likely to work with your proposal. Are they expensive? Abundant? Is there a way to use the types of beta reactions you're studying with more widespread fissile elements, like Thorium? Finally, even if the nuclear fuel might be safer with your proposal, would the fissile (by-)products be more benign or even more problematic?

I do realize, it's very difficult to make neutrinos do your bidding, but at the same time you have a really interesting problem (and potential solution!) at hand!

Asking donation here seems not proper, but may still acceptable.

Shame on Canadian government!

Such an Einstein equivalent nuclear scientist has to farm for a living, and to self-fund his research on next generation clean nuclear power! At least, I appreciate him/her for not to join nuke team of North Korea regime for better research funding.

I have seen lots of PHDs in Toronto being taxi drivers or general labors for surviving, in contrast, the high paid establishment bureaucracy all are living well, but doing nothing & charging high tax on public. What is wrong with Canada?

Its government agent stupid SDTC even funded a BC company that ridiculously claims nuclear fusion by piston punch pressure! Many years passed, but nothing positive result. Have you tried to get funded from SDTC?

Just suggest you guy move to USA, I guess Trump will like you helping him Make America Great Again, you will be treated well to the max satisfaction.

Thanks for all appreciations and encouragements, I can manage to overcome any difficulty in fighting for welfare for all human beings.

Invictus by William Ernest Henley

Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
      For my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.

Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds and shall find me unafraid.

It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate,
I am the captain of my soul.

This looks highly related to https://www.climatecolab.org/contests/2017/energy-supply/c/proposal/1334058, are you developing and pitching these as separate proposals? Perhaps combining them would make a stronger case.

To betsy,

they are different, though similar, this one is only for study on more selectable peculiar double beta decay fuels; but that one, the single beta decay 176Lu fuel is selected and detail reactor is disclosed.

Clean nuclear energy is an alluring concept.

Maybe you can try to apply for ARPA-e funding program of DOE.

I think, you are not eligible to research so recondite scientific theory and technology.

Government only trusts and funds the likes of us with doctor degree in domain of high energy nuclear physics!

The above commenter is so arrogant, not good manner!

I believe Yanming Wei is a polymathy and more knowledgeable in nuclear domain than you though his master degree.

Maybe some university e.g. MIT can confer honorary doctorate on this great genius if he can receive.

The second comment is right.

SDTC is a very bureaucratic crappy government agent, never expect them doing good.

If you have no inside connection or petticoat influence, almost impossible to get funded for whatever good project.

The funded GeneralFusion "technology" is just a international joke:)
