Judges'' comments
The Judges felt the proposal could be more clearly presented. Is this a project for African countries? It lists other countries, and also that it is feasible for the whole continent except Europe (Europe is not in Africa!). The objective is not clearly stated: is it to train farmers? is it to produce biodiesel? is it to produce cattle feed? or all three? More analysis of costs and benefits is needed, as well as a more thorough impact analysis.
The proposal needs more work in understanding the mechanism of the full value chain, from the farming to the gathering and then, the design and manufacture of an oilseed press and the design of equipment and a biodiesel plant, in countries where this is often challenging, to the final operation and maintenance. Need more work on the overall feasibility of the project and the economics advantages it could bring versus other renewable energy generation solutions with an easier O&M.
Why is AfroGreenTech qualified to do this? need more information on qualifications. Need more work on feasibility and what the process is for turning the plant oil into biofuel.
