This end of pipe solution is difficult due to high costs involved in technology and collection of waste plastics and low impact as most of the plastics will go uncollected, the gasification plant will not get sufficient feedstock, and the utility of energy will require other major changes in regulations, equipment, and practices. Waste plastics to energy has considerable environmental footprints and not considerable net benefits.
