Judge 1: Combining the power of education, youth, and direct energy projects is smart here. And the proven success of the academies to spur actual on the ground renewable energy projects already is impressive. It would seem that scaling up the academies and creating a better online presence with more robust tools and access for users would only increase the implementation of these projects. This is great idea and is already showing some success -- not to mention if we want to solve climate change and reduce carbon emissions, we much deploy and scale renewable energy globally at a much faster rate. Low-carbon renewable energy sources are key to mitigating climate risks. I do question the budget -- it seems that the costs for the website and online toolkit are quite low to do what is detailed in this proposal. But all in all this is a strong proposal, already demonstrating some impact and, if scaled appropriately, this could be a real force for reducing climate emissions and transforming communities to a low-carbon economy.

Judge 2: Solid track record already: SEYN has already delivered three successful Energy Academies in Croatia (July 2015), Greece (October 2015) and Spain (April 2016), as well as a number of other capacity building workshops. Next steps: build an active online platform with toolkit. Many precedents for this; shouldn’t be difficult. Mentoring system is a good idea. **Question: what online presence has SEYN already created? (I see Facebook, with 1,462 members; and YouTube).

Proposal would be improved with content from both of these social platforms, as evidence of SEYN’s vibrant founding user base. GOOD: Local networks and energy projects already exist as a result of SEYN. This includes Electra, a Greek energy cooperative, a number of partnerships with local organizations for educational and Do-it-Yourself (DIY) initiatives in Greece and the Canarian Institute for Self-Sufficient Energy Communities (ICEACAN), an institute promoting and developing community engagement with renewables in Canary Islands (Spain).
**Question: given the existing successes, why not mention specific countries in the proposal? **On “Related Proposals,” I feel certain there are other youth-oriented networks in the MIT Climate CoLab universe that could be mentioned here, and which might provide synergies for the SEYN project.

Judge 3: I'm a strong advocate of youth leadership training, and this project has potential to be compelling.

Judge 4: Appreciate the additional information on how the program can be replicated. The network is well positioned to engage youth in climate action.

The network has the potential to empower young people to take direct action in addressing climate change by encouraging collaboration and an entrepreneurial approach. It would be helpful to hear more about the mentoring program and how the model can be replicated.

The authors clarified and streamlined parts of the initial summary and pitch. Moreover, the team also edited text considerably, especially in the Proposed Actions section, detailing the capacity building iterations already provided and specifying how the proposed actions will take place, in particular explaining how the online toolkit is intended to work and how the mentoring programme is supposed to be implemented. These more detailed explanations were provided to address the feedback received from the Jury on the need to further elaborate on how the mentoring will take place. By doing so and by adding more data on what was achieved already, we also intend to demonstrate the replication potential the project has in the future.

Small linguistic and consistency revisions were also made in the Challenges and Risks section, as well as in the Timeline sections. Overall, we also tried to improve the presentation, provide some visuals and links that showcase our work.
