There are many contest/storytelling tools out there already to inspire individual people to act on climate change, and so far it hasn't had the nearly the same impact as what business or government can have by doing something as simple as extending daylight savings time, for example. Most people want to do the right thing (recycling, saving water, using cleaner energy) but unless it is easy, convenient and accessible for them, they will not take the individual actions needed to bring that impact to scale. Nearly everyone wants to recycle, but the trick is go ensure that municipalities make it easy for people to do so. There would be much greater impact if the focus of this proposal was on how to enable governments, businesses and other entities to make individual actions easier and more accessible to individuals.
