I'm fascinated with the idea of decentralized wastewater treatment, and I think there is tremendous promise in this approach. But in isolation I wonder if it's kind of like thinking that having lungs is a good idea on its own. Lungs require arteries to carry blood to them and veins to carry that blood away. They require a heart to pump that blood. They require a nervous system to coordinate all of this, and so on. In the same way, what are the systemic changes required to enable this scheme to work? Having said that, I believe there is a workable approach to creating the synergies required to support decentralized wastewater treatment. In fact, designing that specific approach is part of my own plans.
