A project with a huge ambition (1 million ha of trees planted or restored per year during 10 years in the Sahelian region), based on a concrete experience in the region. Some questions linked to feasibility: how to plough 100.000 ha with 22 tractors in a year? Where 4000 tons of adapted tree seeds are available in Sahel? Where does the funding of 4 billions USD come from (and not 400 millions USD if the figures provided are accurate: “Restoring 1 000 000 hectares of degraded land at an average of USD 400 per hectare" during 10 years)? Another question linked to this contest: what is the motivation for this huge project to compete with grass root proponents for a prize of 10.000 USD?

It would be helpful if you included a theory of change to show how the approach works and what it entails. You could also illustrate the different components of the theory with successful practices from past experiences.
Even though the risks are listed/analyzed (“Other risk factors include poor performance by implementing organizations, lack of ownership at community level, a failure to maintain leadership in key areas of relevant technical operations and ineffective communication, data collection and exchange.”), the theory of change is not well explained and the final interest of local households is not demonstrated.
The proposal could benefit more from understanding what has slowed the development of the Great Green Wall and how this would better overcome those obstacles.
