To generate more attention in climate change among people, especially the youth, hold a competition for short-story/science fiction/amateur writers. Each submitted story would "play out" a scenario or model of climate change (e.g. Rising sea levels in the Bay Areas, increase droughts in Texas, etc). There would be actually two competitions. One competition would focus on dystopian outcomes while another would be more optimistic. This competition would run with the Nano-Novel period in November and would collaborate with science fiction-loving sites like Boing Boing and IO9. There should be a cash prize perhaps sponsored by a publishing company. A well-known actor or actress and read the top two stories.
