Shakeel Hayat is motivated new researcher, possessing over four years of education and research experience and working on number of environmental, climate change and developmental issues. These include "barriers to adopting improved cookstoves in rural North-West Pakistan", "Adap2-Adapting to adaptation; studying the influnces of international climate change discources on local governance processes" and "REDD- A step forward towards sustainable development'. He has earned a masters degree in climate change and internationaldevelopment from renowned school of internationaldevelopment (DEV), University of East Anglia,Norwich, UK and wrote his masters thesis on "Indus Waters Treaty and resolution of water conflicts between two nucear nations". In his thesis he has given an insight to the power imbalances wich helped India to become hydro-hegemon in the Indus basin.
