I've been a climate activist since 2000, in the past four years searching for new ways out of our intractable dilemma. It's clear to me that emissions reduction efforts have been ineffective and that we have to come up with something else. Prior to my climate work I've had careers in education, holistic medicine and high tech. I have a daughter and three-year-old grandson whose future I ponder on a daily basis. It's what keeps me going.
I am part of the New England Center for Holistic Management, which approaches natural systems as indivisible wholes. We take the position that restoring biodiversity is essential for bringing planetary processes into healthy balance, including atmospheric carbon burdens.
