I hold a Master of Science in Development Economics (School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London) and I am currently a PhD candidate at King's College London under the supervision of Prof. Tony Allan, with a thesis on water security and virtual water 'trade' in the Middle East and North African region.

I am currently working as a Reseach Fellow of the University of Venice IUAV in a project on land and water acquisitions, coordinated by Prof. Margherita Turvani, and I am a member of the UK Management Comittee of the EU Cost Action "Assessment of EUROpean AGRIculture WATer use and trade under climate change (EURO-AGRIWAT)", chaired by Dr Anna Dalla Marta.

My research interests lie in the field of water resurces management and policy (and natural resources more in general); but also include value chains and corporate social responsibility.

I have recently edited, together with Francesca Greco, the first Italian book on virtual water and water footprint: L'acqua che mangiamo (2013), Edizioni Ambiente (http://www.edizioniambiente.it/libri/857/l-acqua-che-mangiamo/). The book includes, among others, contributions from Arjen Hoekstra (Water Footprint Network), Tony Allan (King's College London and SOAS), WWF-Italy and Slow Food, but also the Mutti and Barilla.

Francesca Greco and I have developed a multimensional water sustainability label, which is presented in deltail in our edited book. A brief presentation can also be found at the link below: http://www.uea.ac.uk/documents/40159/2682184/antonelli-greco-virtual-water-in-food-products/cba30ef7-c970-454a-9088-bace1b7e3cc7

I have worked as a Reseach Fellow of the euro-Mediterranean Centre for Climate Change (CMCC) in the project WASSERMed (Water Availability and Security in Southern EuRope and the Mediterranean) coordinated by Prof. Roberto Roson.
