Jim R. Stewart, Ph.D., is a scientist, environmentalist, and professor with emphasis on energy and water issues. His formal education includes a Ph.D. in Physics from Yale University in Connecticut and an Master of Science in Urban Studies from Southern Connecticut State University. His experience includes technology startups; founding and directing climate and energy issue organizations that combine business, government, academia, and communities; research and teaching; and directing social justice groups.
He was formerly Professor of Physics at the University of New Haven and did research in nuclear and chemical physics.
He has also had positions as the Executive Director of the Connecticut Human Services Reorganization Commission, of the Connecticut United Labor Agency, and of People for Parks of Los Angeles, as well as Associate Director of the Southern California Council on Environment and Development and organizer of Earth Day Los Angeles.
Currently Jim is Vice President of PODenergy, which is developing a comprehensive plan to reverse global warming and restore global ecosystems with a Blue-Green approach.
