I am an environmental economist from Sao Paulo, Brazil. I hold Master’s degrees in both Environmental Science and Agriculture and Resource Economics and I have had the pleasure of working extensively as a board member with several non-profits both in Colorado and Brazil to further their climate change and environmental initiatives.  In Brazil, I co-founded and acted as a treasurer of A Rocha Brazil, an international environmental organization working with environmental conservation and education.  I also acted as a research associate for a couple of research institutes where I played an integral role in the development of projects related to water resources, sustainable agriculture, farmers’ education, and social capital.  In Colorado, I worked as a research assistant at Colorado State University on the Afghanistan Water, Agriculture and Technology Transfer (AWATT) project, a multi-university endeavor, which sought to find sustainable irrigation and crop adaptability solutions for farmers in Afghanistan. I am currently an Economics professor at a community college and also an online coordinator for the Online MBA program at Colorado State University, Colorado.  I am also an active member of Vineyard Church of the Rockies in Fort Collins, Colorado where I co-lead the church’s sustainability initiatives and a ClimateWise Ambassador Committee Member for the City of Fort Collins (CO) since last year. I also write a blog that focuses on the mysterious synergies between Christian spirituality, social justice, environmental conservation and the links bertween faith and social change towards more sustainable attitudes.
