Member Profile
Richard Hobbs is currently studying his MBA at University of Oxford's Said Business School. His work in climate change began as a carbon broker and analyst in the New Zealand Emissions Trading Scheme. After this he worked for the Clean Energy Regulator, the Australian Government body responsible for implementing Australia's federal climate change policies. Here he played a central role in the implementation of the Australian carbon tax. He was also involved in preparing for the implementation of the Australian ETS and EU ETS link, which unfortunately never came into fruition.
While working for the Australian Government, Richard was also involved in capacity building and information sharing for other nations' carbon pricing systems. This included capacity building for the South African carbon tax, the South Korean ETS and the Chinese pilot cap-and-trade systems, and information sharing with California's cap-and-trade and RGGI.
