The maximum number of CoLab Points this member could receive. This is a measure of how many times the member’s Proposal have been included in other Proposal and how important it is in those Proposal.(See more)
I am a civil and environmental engineer working for Government of Nepal for last 6 years. I have collected multidisciplinary experience while working on agriculture entrepreneurship project to arsenic mitigation, watershed management to basic water and wastewater design, and a profile as an independent research consultant to a utility engineer working for government. I am quiet interested in developing innovative concepts and technologies that are cost effective and environment friendly. My interest is more concerned on how to facilitate the marginalized ones, and how can simple engineering solutions be used to mitigate problems brought about by the climate change. I have been awarded with international awards such as Mondialogo Engineering Award 2008/09, Australia Awards 2015 and few national level awards for my outstanding technological innovations. Low cost zero energy post harvest technology 'rural cold storage' and 'arsenic aquifer sealing technology' are two such technological innovations that I have implemented in the marginalized communities. I have published all of my research findings as research articles, book chapters and posters in international journal and conferences, that can be found in internet.
My first project in MIT CoLab 2014 was on promoting ecosan toilets for a safe environment and sustainable livelihood- that stood among top 5 Finalists. In 2017, I am working with 10 engineers across 7 countries from 3 different continents to develop an innovative project on 'Using VR technology for anticipating climate hazards', which we look forward to implement in Sudan, Rwanda, Nepal, Peru and Colombia.
