Ivan Jaques is a Senior Energy Specialist at the Energy Sector Management Assistance Program (ESMAP) at the World Bank. His main work area is supporting cities in developing countries to improve services and reduce costs through energy efficiency. Before joining the Bank, he was Deputy Director of Chile's Energy Efficiency Program and Head of the Studies Area at Transantiago (focused on reforming public transport in Santiago). Earlier he was Team Leader at the Asia Pacific Energy Research Centre for APEC economies in Tokyo, and Researcher at the Energy Research Program at the University of Chile. He received his Industrial Engineering degree from the University of Chile.
