Josh joined Pratt Center in January of 2013 after serving as Pratt’s industrial fellow. As the Planner / Manufacturing Retention Coordinator Josh works on community based planning, industrial, sustainability, and economic initiatives. Josh manages the Pratt Center Made In NYC program which promotes and advocates for over 1300 local manufacturers providing good jobs for New Yorkers. Josh also has a strong interest and expertise in sustainable waste management, stormwater management, and sewer infrastructure.
Prior to moving to NYC, Josh worked for the Community and Economic Development Office and the Department of Public Works in Burlington VT where he assisted in ensuring that critical community groups were engaged in the planning and development of a major waterfront redevelopment project. Josh also worked with underserved youth in a rural area of Vermont to build a new community skatepark.
Josh holds a BS in Community Development and Applied Economics from the University of Vermont and a M.S in City and Regional Planning from Pratt Institute. Josh is the recipient of the 2015 Commitment to the Profession Award from Pratt Institute. Josh also assists in the curriculum development for the Pratt Graduate Environmental Systems Management Program.
