Member Profile
I, Dr. Md. Tajuddin Sikder, Lecturer, Department of Public Health and Informatics, Jahangirnagar University, Bangladesh, am mostly a Environmental Health Researcher and have vast experiences on water resources management, climate change adaptation, climatic biochemistry. My research focuses on the integration of different aspects of environmental science into a single process. To date, I worked in three different research areas: water pollution remediation with cyclodextrin polymers, assessment of River ecology in developed and developing countries, climate change impacts and adaptations. As an achievement for creating a pollution index, I was awarded the excellent research award from Hokkaido University, Japan. With a Ph.D., M.Sc. and B.Sc. degree in the field of Environmental Science, I have a full understanding of research conduction on natural science, expertise on report writing, data analysis and implementation or research outputs in the real scale scenario. I took participated in different international forum in USA, Italy, Indonesia, Vietnam, Mongolia, Nepal and Hong Kong to discuss environmental issues e.g. climate change adaptation practices, pollution remediation, etc. I have noteworthy expertise on forest resources monitoring, management and restoration and, worked extensively on wild fire, carbon management and valuation of services in peat-forest in Indonesia. I have played major role in successful completion of JSPS-UGC joint research project (2011-13), DFID funded project- 2007 and project under water and sanitation program, World Bank. My self-motivation and independent work ethic, publication number (20 international, 9 national, 2 books), teaching experience along with my aptitude for research further motivate me to do some advance level research afterward. Here in this study, I will develop a low cost household drinking water treatment system for the climate induced flood affected communities in the coastal Bangladesh.
