I am an independent environmental consultant, writer, and speaker in western Massachusetts. I have a B.A. in anthropology, M.S. in environmental engineering, Ph.D. in civil engineering, professional engineer registration in 4 states, and 30 years of environmental engineering experience preventing and remediating environmental contamination. I blog on the Huffington Post about climate change and other sustainability-related topics and am currently working on my third book, Global Reconnect: For Our Earth, Our Species, and Our Selves. This book is a big picture synthesis that shows how our current crises, including but not limited to climate change, provide a grand opportunity for humans to evolve. If we simultaneously grow ourselves individually and fix our collective institutions and policies, we and other species can enjoy healthier and happier lives and a sustainable future. Believing we need to rapidly move from the hand-wringing stage into constructive action, my writings on climate change focus on solutions and confidence that we can succeed in creating a better world.
