An experienced Communications Consultant, I founded Climate Gardens to promote awareness and action on climate change through gardens and green spaces.

Climate Gardens creates innovative green experiences about climate change and the path to a low carbon future. It was short-listed in the 2016 PWC Environmental Entrepreneur Awards in London.

In July 2016 Climate Gardens was awarded a Gold Medal at the 2016 Hampton Court Flower Show for Near Future Garden. This environmental garden generated positive engagement with climate change using innovative garden design themed around renewable energies and a low carbon future.  Over 10,000 visitors in 6 days were asked to reflect on their personal carbon foot print and leading environmentalists such as Jon Snow & Sir Tim Smit donated their own footprints

The next Climate Gardens project is called The Carbon Path - an international public engagement project communicating Climate Action for Empowerment in major cities between 2018 and 2020.

Why Gardens?

Gardens and plants connect us to the rapidly changing climate as they respond to daily and local weather patterns which are a reflection of the much bigger climate picture. Every day the plants bear witness to the climate changing outside
our own back doors. They can help us to see the shift in extreme weather scenarios approaching every day in our own lives rather than in a remote Arctic location or deserted island.

Plants survive these changes by harnessing the natural elements of sun, wind and water on a daily basis. It is these natural resources that will also enable the adaptation to a low carbon world using the renewable energies of solar, wind and water power.

Planting a garden is a commitment to the future. Gardens deliver hope and positivity for families and future generations to enjoy. Investing time, money and effort into managing nature now to create a ‘greener’ world will ensure a sustainable and easy to manage future for our children to inherit.
