Dr. Arun Jhaveri has over 40 years of combined professional work experience in the inter-related fields of Energy, Environment, Climate Change, Sustainability, Clean/Green Technologies, Urban Governance Leadership, and International Affairs. He was the First Science/Technology Advisor in the City of Seattle Mayor's Office of Management and Budget (OMB), where he designed, developed, and implemented a new innovative Urban Technology Program, funded by a 2-year Grant from the National Science Foundation, that helped make City of Seattle Public Service Delivery Functions much more efficient and cost-effective. Dr. Jhaveri has worked for the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers/Seattle District as an Engineering Project Manager for 9 years, followed by working as the Regional Technology Manager with the U. S. Department of Energy in the Western Regional Office/Seattle for 15 years. Dr. Arun Jhaveri was the First Mayor of the newly incorporated City of Burien in the State of Washington for 6 years. Dr. Jhaveri is Co-Author of a new book entitled "Carbon Reduction : Policies, Strategies, and Technologies", published by the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE) in August 2009. Dr. Jhaveri received his Master of Science in Atomic/Molecular Physics degree from the University of Massachusetts, Amhers, Mass., and a Doctorate degree in Educational Leadership/Sustainable Development from the Seattle University. Dr. Arun Jhaveri has received numerous awards and recognitions from around the world and within the United States, including but not limited to, 2005 U. S. Department of Energy Secretary's COMMUNITY SERVICE AWARD and the AEE Energy Managers HALL OF FAME award/recognition in 2014, both awarded/received in Washington, D.C. Dr. Jhaveri is currently a Senior Energy Adviser and a Certified Sustainable Development Professional in Seattle. He was elected a Member of the World Mayors Council on Climate Change (WMCCC) in 2012, representing the City of Burien.
