International relations and environmental policy scholar with a focus on environmental governance and performance assessment. Research examines the effectiveness of international organizations in environmental governance, coherence and fragmentation in the United Nations system, the history of international environmental policy and implications for contemporary reform efforts. Current research and activities include campus sustainability and in particular governance frameworks for higher education institutions for climate change and sustainability.

Ultimate goal to assist international, non-governmental and educational organizations in developing performance evaluation and standards for good environmental governance, outline institutional options for sustainability linking rigorous research and realistic assessment of possible solutions.
