PRAGATI KORAPUT is a NGO established on 26th January 1992 under the Societies Registration Act 1860 with a vision"To build a self reliant society free from hunger and exploitation, where everyone irrespective of caste,creed,sex and language have right to dignified means of livelihood and through collective action ensure socio-economic justice and ecological balance." We have a mission"To facilitate and strengthen vibrant people's organisations at different levels of society that will protect,utilize,control and manage local resources and through collective action ,ensure dynamic socio-economic changes for sustainable development by advocating for pro poor governance and bring tribals,women,children and downtrodden to the mainstream of the society." We are focusing on natural resource management,sustainable agriculture,women development,climate change adaptation and renewable energy through facilitation of community based organisations and its federations.We have demonstrated climate resilient food production systems,introduced system of crop intensification for nutritional food security of the community as well as reduce green house gas emissions. We have promoted eco-friendly irrigation and land management practices and demonstrated use of solar energy for irrigation,home lighting and cooking. We collaborate with different donors, research institutions and Government agencies for convergence and increased outreach of our interventions.
