Hesham Ashraf is an Urban Planner who works as a research assistant at Cairo University and Teaching assistant at American University in Cairo.

Hesham knows about the urban planning and geographic information systems and climate change therefore believing in the importance of using GIS in all practical and scientific applications and especially environmental studies affecting global climate change.

Hesham has worked at Faculty of Urban and Regional Planning, Cairo Uniersity in an International Research Project (LOCLIM3) Local Climate Change in 3 cities "Cairo, Nairobi and Istanbul with different population, urban structure, land use classification, climate characteristics and compare different adaptation strategies to local climate change in these cities, this project is  cooperating with ERAfrica organization and Freie Universität Berlin, and has worked as an Assistant Expert in Surveying/Geographic Information System (GIS) at UN-Habitat office in Cairo,EGYPT

Hesham had two internship in Freie Universität Berlin for Work in micro-scale urban climate modelling, Learn how to use basic plotting and statistic tools of the coding language R and work to produce, calculate and preparing a thermal satellite images.

Hesham has worked as president of the Cairo University Student Union and Member at SUE (Student Union Universities of Egypt) and its Official Speaker, represent the Student Union at the conferences, conventions and for External Affairs for two Academic.

Hesham holds a Master of Science in Environmental planning from Cairo University.
