Working as a trainee at the Nordic Folkecenter for Renewable Energy in Denmark in 1997, not only gave me a good overview of renewable energy technologies but also ignited my strong belief in.cooperative action. After my return to Belgium I worked in the environment movement on climate and energy for twelve years. Information sessions on the liberalization of the energy market made me painfully aware of the challenges of energy poverty.  

More recently I worked for four years helping groups to start up citizen energy cooperatives. That also brought me to Croatia, Greece and Spain and made me realize to what extend cooperation between North and South could actually improve chances for both. 

Last year I joined an energy consultancy company supporting businesses, public authorities, cooperatives and private people in their path towards zero emissions.
